Louis de Grenelle

The Louis de Grennelle wine cellars are right in the heart of the town of Saumur, 12 meters underground, and since 1859, have produced Cremant de Loire and Saumur Brut in the traditional way. You will discover the secrets of the Traditional Method in this former limestone (tufa) quarry, dug out by convicts.
Discovery area for vines and wine. Wine tasting sassion.

Today, nearly 3 million bottles are slowly acquiring their bubbles in our tufa galleries. Along the tour route (about 700 metres), our guide will introduce you to the secrets of making fine sparkling wines.
In our vines and wine discovery area, you will learn about the thousand and one marvels of our trade and our know-how. Adult or child, wine experts or technicians, we will share our passion with you thanks to suitably adapted teaching materials (for example, testing aromas and the grape grower's calendar).
The visit will end with a wine tasting session of our fine sparkling Louis de Grenelle wines as well as the still wines of the property.
